The Changing Same: A Momentary Diversion

Okay, kids. Get you a bowl of your favorite sugary cereal, and check out this cartoon. I'm on the road taking young Aaron Beaste to Tennessee for a summer program at Vanderbilt University.

I'll be back at 6:06 pm sharp with this week's Saturday Afternoon Cinema feature. You don't want to miss it! And keep in mind, as much as things change, things stay the same.

Peace,
Max Reddick

*Sigh* This is UNREAL to me. It's actually making me kind of sad.

Having watched this AFTER I just watched the beer commercials you posted, I retract my previous statement about facets of our culture "deserving" to be mocked.

Nothing like a good slap in the face like this to erase the uppity in me.

@ Kim

And little black kids had no choice but to watch this foolishness if they wanted to watch TV. There was nothing else. It's a wonder the whole race ain't crazy.

@ Issa Rae

I never saw the connection between this cartoon and the commercial. But you are certainly correct. We still haven't completely overcome. Now I feel like slapping somebody. You got me all hyped!
