Now, it's the weekend, and more than a few of us will be getting our drink on. And noone likes a bargain more than the soulbrother. Some people even go so far as to accuse me of being cheap. But I don't care if the liquor was free. I'd like to keep my dignity intact, thank you. This is blackface without the face paint.
What do you think?
Note: Go over to kiss my black ads to get the full effect. He's added a few more advertisings by this company and paired it with a special message by that great African American poet Millie Jackson.

still nothing beats Taaka vodka. we discovered that my freshman year at college in new orleans. only $9.99
We are the arbiters of pop culture. I guess its a homage of sorts...
Once again these commercials reflect a limited view of both Black and Hispanic culture.
The impression is: We all come from the ghetto, speak slang and lack a level of education beyond middle school.
This is Blackface for the masses. I don't see it as homage.
As for this sista' I prefer a great Apple Martini in the company of my friends.
I'm not sure about the homage thing, but it is an insult. There is a big difference between appreciating and participating in a culture, and outright mockery.
I don't know how I feel about this. I found the commercials kinda humorous, but only because I feel like THIS facet of our culture deserves to be mocked. It's dumb.
Attack of the culture vultures.
