And Speaking of Chicken

I need some help with this one. An ordinary, everyday busta' like me just don't know these things.

If you are a black celebrity and the two white women interviewing you open the interview by offering you fried chicken, what is the proper reaction? [Thanks for the tip Dollar Bill, the Gangsta of Love]

Too funny. He comported himself like a gentleman though. After all, not everyone can be Eric Micheal Dyson. His bottom line was to handle the business of promoting himself and his new movie--to white people (make no doubt about that). Mission accomplished...I suppose.

I hate when "they" shift cultural gears as they approach different cultures. Did you notice one of "them" say something about sending a "shout out" to Mike's mom? Would they have said that if it were Tom Cruise interview?

This interview sucked!

Mike Epps is soo not funny. He has been in the movie 3 Stikes ,How High, Next Friday, Friday After Next, I just wish he would stop cooning and buffooning for a check.

In all fairness, we constantly "invite" them into our culture. As the arbiters of what is and what is not pop culture, having your colloquialisms mocked, is the chance you take. Maybe we as a people we should revere our culture a little more and stop "pimpin" it.

Anonymous,

I agree with your post to a degree. However, I do need you to qualify your remarks, "Maybe we as a people we [sic] should revere our culture and little more and stop 'pimpin' it.". How do you propose we do it? What does showing reverence look like?
