Where is Stacy Dash?

Every now and then, I look up from my labors in the vineyard, and a member of the tribe is missing. So, I have to send a search team out to bring them home. At least, that’s how it’s supposed to work. Now people are sending me requests to find people like I’m some kind of negro private eye.

Anyway, evidently someone out there is seeking out Stacy Dash. Remember her? She made a career out of playing teenagers even after she was well past thirty. But if you can get away with it, who am I to hate? Now even at 42 years of age, she still looks absolutely marvelous.

Well, the first thing I found out about her is that her name is actually spelled Stacey, though it’s often misspelled Stacy (oops!). Did you know she first appeared on Sesame Street? And according to her bio over at IMDb, former Rocafella mogul Damon Dash is her cousin, and she is listed as an assistant producer at Rocafella Records. Who knew?

However, I must confess. The last time I even remember her on the big screen was the movie Clueless. It appears though she has very busy with appearances on television shows and doing voiceover work as well as a number of movies I don’t recall ever hearing anything about. Her most recent TV role was on the CW Network show The Game and is embedded below. She has completed production on the movie Phantom Punch, directed by Robert Townsend and starring Ving Rhames, and has starred in three other movies which are either in the pre- or post-production stage.

But fellas get this. I knew she was on the cover of King Magazine, but apparently as part of her bid for a comeback, she also appeared in a 2006 issue of Playboy Magazine. Take a peek if you’re grown and sexy.

It’s good to see Stacy still at work. However, as absolutely beautiful as she is, I’m afraid she will probably never be anything more than a B-list actress. But that’s okay. We’ll love her just the same.

As I understand it, she doesnt have too much love for the brothas. Maybe she should stay lost...but I digress.

I don't know about that. I seem to remember something about her having her first child out of wedlock with some brother. I can't recall his name right now. But I may be mistaken.

Stacy is pretty but not much of actress. She was in Richards Pryor's movie, Moving back in the late 80's and not much since, she's been in the business for
20+ years and haven't even made it to being Sandra Bullock or Diane Lane's 5 minute black chick friend in a mainstreatm movie, so now she reduced to showing her photo-shopped assets for men's magazines.. Some folks should have just gone to law school.

Are some of the comments posted examples of why we see so few people of color on television?

Is it the lack of support given by our own people that has lead to the lost of so many shows.

This actress is just as beautiful and talented as most of the fair-haired actresses on television today.

Kim,

We.re assuming she could get through law school.

givepeace,

I do not dispute she is beautiful. She is one of the most beautiful women on television or in the movies. However, I don't agree with you about her talent. I think her talent is not all that great. In fact, I would go so far as to say that she has come as far as she has only because of her beauty.

Lets be real.. Sanaa Lathan is a talented beauty and you would be hard pressed find someone to say otherwise.. Giving criticism where criticism is due is not the reason there are lack of minority shows or why they are failing.

Stacy Dash can still play a teenager even though she's in her 40s. I love the way sisters age gracefully. But keeping it real, her looks happens to be the only reason she's still around.
